The Soccer Chronicles: Setting the StandardWith Molly's surgery being canceled, we were all able to attend Carson's first soccer game Monday evening. This is his first year in Passers, which means the games are a little more competitive...and there are no girls on his team anymore. This is good, since Carson gets a BIT too distracted by girls and refuses to kick a ball if a girl is nearby...after all, a gentleman would never want to accidentally kick a young lady!
As is usual, I brought the camera. The night started off well...

...and even though Carson is one of the smallest guys on the team, he hung out with the crowd of players before the warmups and looked like a real pro. Warmups looked promising as well...

...and Daddy and I got a bit excited that Carson seems to actually "get" soccer this year. Yeah! The game started...

...and Carson was "at the ready" just like his teammate. Excuse me, ladies...

...but your brother is playing soccer. Care to pay attention?

Way to go, Molly! Cheer for your big brother! (Apparently, we lost Meggie completely...)
Carson did a great job in the game...running with the pack instead of behind it, always keeping his eye on the ball, and even getting in a few good kicks. When he had to sit out a quarter...

...he and the teammate who sat out with him did a great job of paying attention to the game and cheering for the team. (I think Carson wore himself out standing on the sidelines!) As always...

...the end-of-game tunnel-of-fans made Carson feel like a big-time athlete. One last picture...

...and we headed to get ice cream. Sorry, no pics from the ice cream outing...Meggie yelled at me, calling me the "Mamarazzi" and said she just wanted to eat her dessert in peace. (Am I really that bad?! NO!!!)
Tune in tomorrow for the next installment of "The Soccer Chronicles"...
