A Special Birthday...

Friday, Evan turned 18. Yikes. My daughter is dating an actual, legal adult now. Oh, who am I kidding? He's still just a great big, fun-loving kid!

Meggie promised Evan a few surprises...
...and, in true Meggie fashion, decorations were part of THAT deal! She hacked into his locker to leave him some happiness...
...then broke into his car (legally, with his keys) and decorated some more. She also baked him a bunch of cupcakes and she and the other Baseball Girlfriends frosted them and took them to his game on Friday evening.

The best (and real) gifts were two very good seats to an upcoming professional baseball game, when our local pro team plays his favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. (The seats are right behind the visitors dug out.) She stuffed those tickets in the pocket of a windbreaker for his final college of choice, the University of Cincinnati (which is, not coincidentally, minutes away from Xavier University).

So, maybe the best gift wasn't the tickets, or the windbreaker.
The best gift Evan got this birthday was a pretty awesome girlfriend who did her best to make his day special.

Happy Birthday, Evan, from our whole family!
