I truly love my children. Even when they refuse to make their beds, bicker incessantly, scream at top volumes when I have a headache, frustrate me endlessly, embarrass me in public...
Wait a second. I'm heading the wrong way here.
The past two days were very proud ones with regard to my kiddos. Consider.
A letter came in the mail Tuesday. From the Principal of the high school. Inviting us to attend the annual Academic Awards Night. High school has been particularly challenging for Meggie and we haven't been invited to this celebration for a few years. This year, though, she has really stepped it up academically and her once sagging cumulative GPA is heading closer to the 4.0 mark every semester.
While discussing Molly with her teacher yesterday at pick-up, Miss Jenny mentioned how "sweet" Molly is. When I reacted with surprise, stating that Carson is the sweet one in our house, Miss Jenny wholeheartedly agreed. In fact, she chuckled and said that every girl in the school "swoons" when Carson enters the room. Apparently, the girls respond strongly to his inherent sweetness.
Back to the Molly conversation, though. Miss Jenny said that Molly is the most polite child in her classroom, hands down. In fact, now that Molly has "set the standard," good manners are the norm in the classroom...not the exception. Molly is also the first to share and the last to complain about it, according to Miss Jenny.
We may now return to our regularly scheduled refusing, bickering, screaming, frustrating, and embarrassing...

Awww...what sweet compliments for all of your children! Congrats to Meggie! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to see their hard work paying off! Keep it up, girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAs for the other two kiddoes...recognition for actually being sweet, polite, non-complaining children at their ages? LOVE it!! Great job to both kids AND to their adoring parents! You deserve big hugs!
