Molly (aka lover of all things princess) chose a Little Mermaid theme for her birthday party. She was well aware that the day of her party was not her actual birthday, so whenever anyone at the party said, "Happy Birthday, Molly!" she would respond, "It's my party. It's not my birthday." OK, then. But thanks for coming.
So here we have the birthday girl...

...showing us her sassy attitude in her "Birthday Girl" t-shirt. (Meggie begged me to buy that shirt for Molly's 5th birthday and I wouldn't. Why buy a shirt you can only wear one day a year? When it went on sale for $3 this year, I was willing.)
After the amazing theme (that we carried way too far, food-wise) at Carson's birthday party, we decided to dial it down a bit. OK, a lot. We did, however, have a snack tray...

...of Swedish fish and goldfish crackers (designed by Meggie). And that was as far as the fish theme went.

Well, except for the cake, of course! After dinner (Daddy's famous chili and Casey's magnificent cornbread muffins), the kids plopped down...

...to watch Molly open her gifts.

Molly got lots of fun gifts, but this one...

...was the show stopper. Isn't that hilarious?!

Meggie, Laura and Casey thought so! (Gee, wonder who bought her that hysterical wig?)
After gifts, it was time for cake!

After blowing out her candles...

...I think Molly was afraid the smoke alarm would go off. No, Molly, you're too young for that to happen. (Just wait for Mommy's birthday in December...)
My friend, Wendy, took a great family picture of us on the back deck...

...that, of course, had to include Molly's new Little Mermaid doll. Guess she's part of the family now!
Molly makes a lovely redhead! Happy birthday!!
