Gulp.
Guess it's a good thing Santa brings the toys down the chimney and doesn't, for example, have to sneak them out of our bedroom closet. Because sneaking them out of a closet literal feet from two excited kids trying to sleep would make Santa's job VERY challenging. So, it's a good thing he uses the chimney...
Anyway.
The Littles were up at 7:30AM. Not too bad by my standards, but WAY too early to get the Teenager out of bed. We stalled 'em until 9AM. Then we couldn't wait any longer. They were busting at the seams to get to the loot. (Interestingly, Carson wanted to send Daddy down first, to make sure Santa actually brought him gifts. He admitted that he is often a jerk to Molly and feared Santa would hold that against him. Here's a thought...just stop being a jerk to your little sister! But I digress...)
Thought I'd share a few videos to close out the Christmas posts. First, we have Carson and Molly's reactions on Christmas morning. (Always a classic.)
Carson loves basketball. Can't say he's super good playing it, but he loves it. Santa must have known.
Here is a short video of the newest rock group, The Asian Invasion. Molly on guitar, Carson on electronic drums.
Santa got the wild idea to bring Carson a skateboard this year. Carson was thrilled...until he actually got ON the skateboard. Now he's not so sure.
Meggie did get gifts for Christmas, but refuses to be photographed in the morning before she gets her hair and makeup just right. So you'll just have to trust me that she was there and gifts were received.
The day after Christmas, I rearranged the kids' areas in the basement, making room for their new toys. Makes it feel like they have all new toys. And they are spending HOURS playing together (occasionally yelling, but playing nonetheless). Meggie has been spending hours in her room, watching the first season of Glee on her new DVD player.
Ahhhh, the joys of Christmas.

Oh man, Santa has kind of the same plan at our house. We would be "toast" if anyone slept on the floor of our bedroom. Especially since the 9 year old couldn't fall asleep until midnight. (Ugh! late night for Santa) Then, Michelle was so excited she went in and woke Josh at 3:30 a.m. and the 2 of them came strolling down the hall. So, after mom put them back in bed, she couldn't sleep, and remembered at 4:00 that Mrs. Claus had forgotten something - had to make a late night run out the garage for sleds! It's fun but I'm glad it only comes once a year - exhausting!
