My extended side of the family finally celebrated Christmas on January 8th at my brother's house. One would think, with the holidays over and all the presents put away, that the Littles would have been DYING to get to Uncle Mike's house to open more presents. One would be wrong.
Carson is suddenly super interested in the drums. (Of course he is! "The louder, the better" is his official motto.) He got an electronic drum pad for Christmas...

...and he loves it. However, Uncle Mike is a real musician. With a real band. And real, honest-to-goodness instruments in his basement. So, while the gifts were a nice plus, Carson and Molly were most enthused about "playing music" at Uncle Mike's house...

...with real drums...

...and a real microphone for singing! Thankfully, Uncle Mike's house is perfect for this kind of noise. We put 'em down there and barely noticed the noise -- err, awesome free concert upstairs!
Wackier to me, though, than forgoing gifts to play with musical instruments is Molly's sudden and complete infatuation with my brother, Terry.

Uncle Terry lives about an hour away and we honestly rarely get to see him and Aunt Tina. However, Molly really connected with Uncle Terry in Graceland and she truly adores him. So, for her, almost as much as singing on a real microphone, the biggest draw on this Christmas celebration was getting to see her "favorite guy." Sadly, as much as she adores Uncle Terry, she cannot -- to save her life -- remember his name.
So "favorite guy" he will remain. And he doesn't seem to mind at all.
Happy Wednesday to all!
Drums? Ugh! You are a better Mama than me????
