Another One of THOSE Projects...

I guess I'm getting more creative. When Carson would bring home projects like this, I would cringe. You know the type...family trees, baby pictures, that sort of thing...all the projects that can be difficult for adopted kids to complete.

A couple of weeks ago, Molly brought me a sheet home from Kindergarten entitled "Fun Facts." The directions asked us to list fun facts about our child...and the examples were having freckles like mom, or having blue eyes like dad. Here we go again...

I thought outside the box and decided to go a different route. Rather than focusing on physical characteristics, I listed the following facts on Molly's sheet:

1. I am funny, like my big sister.
2. I love to sing, like my Mommy.

I sent the sheet back and, honestly, didn't think twice about it. Last week, Molly brought the following art project home...
...and, while she didn't choose the fact that had me in it, I still love her Fun Facts self-portrait! Isn't it a wonderful likeness of my baby girl?

I don't cringe with these projects now...bring 'em on!
