Daddy Gets Creative...

Last week, while Meggie was sunning herself on Spring Break, we experienced almost daily rain (with a tornado warning thrown in midweek for good measure). Ugghh!

I had a HUGE paper to write for my Graduate Research class (ended up being 17 pages!) and was counting on Daddy taking the Littles outside during the day so I could have some peace and quiet to write it. (He took vacation for their Spring Break since our built-in-babysitter was in Florida for the week.) On the rainy days, he had no choice but to keep them indoors. However, he made the most of the few short periods of sun we experienced...
...by giving the Littles hard hats, rain boots (it WAS muddy!) and garden tools and telling them to dig in the backyard for worms.

Worms?!

Daddy promised 'em they would go fishing if they got a completely rain-free day on Spring Break (which never happened, unfortunately) and said they had to find bait.

Honestly, it was genius! The felt so "official" in their hard hats and spent hours out there digging and playing with worms.
Truth be told, I think it was their favorite memory from Spring Break! Way to go, Daddy!
