The Best Boyfriend Ever, Part Two...

I am always impressed with a guy who makes the effort to be romantic. (Dear husband, are you reading this??) Evan does a great job of that, in my opinion. Remember how he asked Meggie to be his girlfriend...
...by writing that message on a CD and having her friend, Taylor, deliver it to our house? I thought that was clever and romantic all rolled up into one.

Well, Evan's family and friends have been giving him a hard time because he never officially asked Meggie to go to prom. Sure, they talk about prom, but he never made it "official." Last Saturday night, while Daddy and I were at PF Chang's with the Littles for our anniversary dinner, Evan headed over to our house and surprised Meggie with a special dessert...
...that he almost dropped on the floor during the re-enactment they supplied me for blogging purposes. (Another reason Evan fits so well into our family...he tolerates me blogging about him!)

Why was that dessert so special? 'Cause Evan added a special message to that cake...
...and officially asked his darling girlfriend...
...to join him at the prom. Isn't that sweet?! It's a good thing you made it official, Evan, since she has already purchased a dress and had it altered!

After he gave her the cake (while we were at dinner), they decided to wait until we got home so they could share it with all of us. Since he found the cake in the cold section of the bakery, he thought it was an ice cream cake and shoved it in the freezer. When we got home from dinner and got the Littles all excited for ice cream cake, Meggie cut into it and realized it wasn't ice cream cake at all...just a frozen brick of regular ole chocolate cake!! Poor Evan...he suffered severe ridicule for that one.

That's OK, Evan, it's the thought that counts anyway! And I think you did a great job!!
